FOUNDER / CEO - AppleTree CEU

Jeffrey Despommier

OTR, ATP, OMS, WCC, CUA

Graduated from the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center - Shreveport in 2008 with a master’s degree in occupational therapy.  During his career, he has consulted and assisted with bowel and bladder programs in the ICU, acute care, LTAC, SNF, inpatient rehab, outpatient and community rehab settings. He is a volunteer with the United Spinal Association of Houston and works in the Assistive Technology industry.

Jeffrey is board certified as an Ostomy Management Specialist, Wound Care Certified, Urologic Associate, an Assistive Technology Professional and has been a guest lecturer at spinal tumor conferences, cancer symposiums, universities and hospitals since 2010.  He is the author of a published book titled  Core Curriculum: Bowel, Bladder & Ostomy Management which is his latest contribution to the profession.

Maggie Baldwin

Maggie Baldwin

RN, BSN

Starting online advocacy in 2010 after a diagnosis of Crohn's disease and having ileostomy surgery, Maggie Baldwin spent the next ten years educating herself on ostomy care. She created videos online to show how to complete basic ostomy care.

She then went on to become a registered nurse, working as a med-surg nurse in pediatric GI, metabolism, and endocrine. She also worked in telehealth nursing, helping to develop a team of nurses to care for ostomy patients remotely. Her passion has been education and filling a need in the underserved ostomy community.

Karen Brady

MSN, APRN-CNP

Karen graduated from Duquesne University with a Bachelor of Nursing Degree.  She spent the early part of her career working in a variety of clinical settings including the ICU, PACU and ambulatory clinics.  Karen began to work in the specialty of Colon and Rectal Surgery almost 25 years ago. Dedication to this patient population led her back to school to continue her education.

After graduating from Ursuline College with her Masters of Science in Nursing,  Karen began work as a Nurse  Practitioner for a busy Colon and Rectal Surgery service managing the hospital patients. Her special interests include:  Education of patients and nurses, patient advocacy, ostomy care, dehydration, Enhanced Recovery and research.

Physical Therapist - Metabolic Health MD

Lindy Louise

DPT

Lindy, DPT is a physical therapist who earned her clinical doctorate degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She brings a diverse clinical background including outpatient practice at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, home health experience across Southern California and Chicago, and founding an outpatient orthopedic clinic in Newport Beach, California.

Currently Lindy serves as the health and fitness coach at Metabolic Health MD alongside Dr. Elie Jarrouge, MD, where she integrates evidenced-based movement, lifestyle strategies, and dietary changes to optimize patient outcomes. Together Dr. Elie Jarrouge and Lindy have helped hundreds of patients reverse or put into remission: pre-diabetes, type II diabetes, hypertension, autoimmune disorders, and other chronic metabolic diseases through a low carb approach of real, whole foods. She is deeply passionate about nutrition as a foundational component of rehabilitation and tissue healing, and she specializes in helping patients bridge the gap between clinical care and long term health.

Lindy is excited to share practical, actionable strategies with fellow healthcare professions to enhance recovery, performance, and overall well-being of patients.

Physical Therapist - Houston Methodist

Summer Medlin-Mutombo

PT, DPT

Summer Mutombo is a dedicated pelvic physical therapist with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) and an undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma. Since 2018, Summer has specialized in pelvic health, helping patients overcome pelvic dysfunction with compassionate, expert care. Currently, Summer serves as a Senior Physical Therapist at Houston Methodist in The Woodlands, where she continues to advance her passion for improving quality of life through specialized pelvic therapy.

Physical Therapist - MD Anderson

Kimberly Presson

PT, DPT, CLT-LANA

Kimberly Presson, PT, DPT, CLT-LANA has been a Physical Therapist for 17 years and worked at MD Anderson Cancer Center for 16 years. Her passion for cancer care began as a PT student and grew though her experience treating patients undergoing stem cell transplant. She received her lymphedema training and certification in 2013 and is one of the inpatient lymphedema therapists at MD Anderson. She has served two stints as a member and chair of the APTA Academy of Oncology nominating committee and serves as an item writer for the oncology specialty exam. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her two children, running, and volunteering at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
